Wise May are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Legal Secretary to join a progressive Law firm based in the City to provide dedicated secretarial and administrative support to 14 colleagues including partners, counsel, associates, paralegals and trainees.

This is a great opportunity to work in a vibrant office in the City within a diverse, collaborative team.

This is a full time, 12 month fixed term contract, with hybrid working (4 days in the office and Fridays working remotely), the hours are 9.30am-5.30pm.

Legal Secretary duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Diary and email management for partners and fee earners. 
  • Organising meetings and travel arrangements. 
  • Copy-typing and digital dictation, as required. 
  • Preparation of draft emails and correspondence for approval. 
  • Processing expenses in a timely manner. 
  • Assisting with Billing/Finance tasks. 
  • Updating Interaction with client contact details. 
  • Handling client enquiries as and when required. 
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with routine enquiries. 
  • Amending and formatting agreements/documents as required. 

Legal Secretary skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary/ PA within a City law firm. 
  • A strong understanding of MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong organisational / self-management skills.
  • Articulate and confident in communicating at all levels within and outside the firm (written and verbal) 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Good listening skills 
  • Well organised and comfortable taking the initiative. 
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Resilient and able to perform under pressure. 
  • Professional approach, strong integrity, and appreciation of the confidential nature of the work. 
  • Friendly and helpful approach to dealing with queries. 
  • Able to integrate within a team as well as working on own initiative. 
  • Work as part of a team ensuring telephones/lunch cover.
