Wise May are looking for an Insurance Operations Assistant with experience working within the London Market Insurance industry to join a leading Underwriting client. As an Insurance Operations Assistant, you will provide operational support to Underwriting teams, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of insurance transactions. This role would suit an insurance professional with existing Lloyd's market operations experience who is confident processing slips, handling risk entry and premium messaging, and can quickly become a valued member of a busy team.

This is a full time, permanent role, with hybrid working and the hours are 9am-5pm.

Insurance Operations Assistant duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate and timely risk and aggregate data entry into the company's key systems.
  • Conduct quality control checks on risk and aggregate data to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with internal standards. Identify and resolve discrepancies and queries, escalating where appropriate.
  • Process and validate USM (Underwriting Signing Messages) and SCM (Signing & Claims Messages) in line with SLAs, investigate and resolve message failures, exceptions and queries.
  • Provide Operational support to Underwriting teams, ensuring efficient processing of transactions.
  • Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance process efficiency, accuracy and controls.
  • Work closely with Underwriting teams, building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across the business.

Insurance Operations Assistant key skills and experience required:

  • Previous Insurance Operations, Underwriting Assistant, Technical Assistant or Broker Operations experience within the Lloyd's/London Market.
  • Strong experience with risk entry, premium messaging and data quality control.
  • Strong insurance slip processing experience with the ability to accurately interpret and process complex risks.
  • Practical knowledge of open market and delegated authority business, including an understanding of the operational and contractual differences between the two.
  • Familiarity with London Market systems such as Whitespace, Velonetic or Subscribe.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Good organisational skills, manages own time well and prioritises workload independently whilst considering the workloads of the whole team.
  • Effective relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, confident in engaging with colleagues across different business departments.
