Wise May are looking for a Sales Manager to join a leading event venue provider based in the City. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly team, who bring high profile events and conferences to life.

This is a full time, office based role, the standard hours are 9am-5.30pm.

Sales Manager duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the achievement of all sales targets.
  • Create and execute a sales plan defining targets and objectives and ensure the sales plan incorporates proactive sales strategies.
  • Assist the General Manager with achieving overall sales and business targets by developing initiatives.
  • To attend networking events raising the profile of the business and represent the business at industry events. 
  • Be an active participant in all sales & marketing meetings with regular updates.
  • To inspire and lead your team, ensuring they have all the skills necessary to deliver.
  • Produce a weekly activity report highlighting all successes to General Manager.
  • Aid in the delivery of regular Open day and showcase events, ensuring attendance of key clients.
  • Review relevant reporting criteria to gain an accurate understanding of current performance, and suggest improvements.
  • Performance manage, train and develop the team through individual development plans, target setting and incentivising.
  • Create accurate forecasting data, and have confidence in presenting information.
  • Create a positive and collaborative working relationship between the sales team and all other departments
  • Ensure every client interaction through the sales process is maintained to a high standard as outlined in the SOP.
  • To constantly innovate within the department and contribute to the ongoing development of the business. 

Sales Manager key skills and experience required:

  • Experience of sales team leadership within the events/venues market.
  • Experience of managing sales budgets and forecast.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in the events sector, planning conferencing and corporate events. 
  • Expert negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Ability to create relationships, build rapport and trust across team, colleagues, clients and suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal & written) and an impeccable telephone manner.
  • Hands-on approach, with an infectious ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Ability to prioritise, demonstrate first class organisational skills and time management .
  • Good IT skills e.g. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
