Wise May is currently recruiting for a Credit Controller on behalf of a leading global law firm, based in Leeds. Working as part of their wider Finance team within a supportive Credit Control team of 7, you will take ownership of your own ledger and play a key role in maintaining effective revenue control, supporting cash flow, and minimising bad debts across the firm.
This is a full time, permanent role.
Credit Controller duties and responsibilities:
- Managing your own ledger and chasing outstanding invoices in a timely and professional manner
- Building strong working relationships with fee earners and stakeholders to support cash collection
- Allocating cash and accurately processing payments
- Monitoring debt levels and escalating issues where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate records and producing reports as required
- Supporting wider finance and credit control processes to meet team KPIs and targets
Credit Controller key skills and experience required:
- Proven experience working as a Credit Controller, ideally within a professional services of legal environment
- Confident liaising with senior stakeholders in a professional and approachable manner
- Cash allocation and accounts processing experience.
- Experience of using accounting and practice management software.
- Strong organisational, time and deadline management skills.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Proactive, flexible and approachable to work.
