Wise May is currently recruiting for a Credit Controller on behalf of a leading global law firm, based in Leeds. Working as part of their wider Finance team within a supportive Credit Control team of 7, you will take ownership of your own ledger and play a key role in maintaining effective revenue control, supporting cash flow, and minimising bad debts across the firm.

This is a full time, permanent role.

Credit Controller duties and responsibilities:

  • Managing your own ledger and chasing outstanding invoices in a timely and professional manner
  • Building strong working relationships with fee earners and stakeholders to support cash collection
  • Allocating cash and accurately processing payments
  • Monitoring debt levels and escalating issues where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate records and producing reports as required
  • Supporting wider finance and credit control processes to meet team KPIs and targets

Credit Controller key skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience working as a Credit Controller, ideally within a professional services of legal environment
  • Confident liaising with senior stakeholders in a professional and approachable manner
  • Cash allocation and accounts processing experience.
  • Experience of using accounting and practice management software.
  • Strong organisational, time and deadline management skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Proactive, flexible and approachable to work.
